MPEC is a new addition to the conference calendar for the study of Music Production pedagogy. MPEC seeks to provide a forum for the discussion and analysis of teaching and learning in music production & technology in Further and Higher Education.
The conference will offer lively debate and stimulating presentations, which will address issues of the place of music production within the broader context of the performing arts sector, research and professional communities.
This inaugural conference benefits from a partnership with the Journal of Music Technology & Education and a special edition containing papers from this event is anticipated.

Call for Papers & Conference Scope
The conference committee invites proposals for papers relating to the conference theme of ‘Music Production Pedagogy’. Possible topics for consideration may include:
Individual presentations should be no more than 20 minutes in duration. Proposals should take the form of a title followed by an abstract of no more than 200 words. Deadline for submission is Friday 3rd February 2017. Decisions will be notified three weeks after this date.
Some papers will be considered for a special edition of the Journal of Music Technology Education (JMTE) acting as proceedings of the event. Submissions for this will need to be completed at date yet to be specified after the conference.

Location
The Music Production Education Conference 2017 will be held in historic city of York. Just outside of the walls of the city lies York St John University with a 175-year-old history of education. Music Production has been thriving at the institution for 10 years and is a good place to launch this conference.

Conference Fees
Conference attendance fees are to be confirmed. Fees will be in the region of £75 per delegate.
