Resumen

En 2005, las autoridades del ayuntamiento abulense de Solosancho decidieron aprovechar la existencia del castro vetón de Ulaca en Villaviciosa (perteneciente al mismo territorio) para organizar una serie de actividades festivas bajo la denominación de “Luna Celta”, en coincidencia con el plenilunio de agosto. La formidable respuesta de los habitantes y residentes de la comarca a dicha convocatoria y el constante incremento de participantes han convertido al evento en referente para la zona. La observación de los criterios adoptados para la programación y las prácticas musicales que tienen lugar durante los festejos permite desentrañar la red de asociaciones semánticas y confluencia de intereses político-culturales, expectativas económicas, componentes de identidad y reconocimiento social, expresiones estéticas, intenciones didácticas y persecución de ideales éticos.

Abstract

In 2005, the authorities of the city council of Solosancho (province of Avila) decided to take advantage of the existence of the archaeological fort of Ulaca in Villaviciosa (placed in the same territory) to organize a series of festive activities under the name of “Luna Celta” (“Celtic Moon”), in coincidence with the full moon of August. The formidable response of the inhabitants and residents of the region to this call and the gradual increase of participants have turned the event into a reference for the area. The observation of the criteria adopted for the programming and the musical practices that take place during the festivities allow us to unravel the network of semantic associations and confluences of interests that configure this celebration as a core of contents, conflating political-cultural interests, economic expectations, identity and social recognition, aesthetic expressions, didactic purposes and the pursuit of ethical ideals.
